JJ Mullor returns to Supermarket Records with My Yard EP, a three-track release that brings his established identity together with the tougher, more percussive direction of his Gömbök Project alias.
Featuring “Lady Panda”, “Mr Toyota” and “Tekno Birds”, the EP is built around rolling low-end, persistent percussion and extended arrangements designed with DJ functionality in mind. Rather than relying on constant breakdowns or short-form impact, each track develops through groove, repetition and subtle rhythmic changes.
That approach reflects an important part of Mullor’s musical background. Although much of his catalogue has moved through house, tech-house and techno, tribal rhythms were already central to his early club influences. Gömbök Project, launched in 2024, gave him a dedicated space to reconnect with that side of his musical identity.
“Lady Panda” introduces the release with a firm, dancefloor-focused pulse, while “Mr Toyota” pushes further into rolling, stripped-back territory. “Tekno Birds” closes the EP with another tightly engineered DJ tool, maintaining the physical character that runs throughout the record.
The release also represents the current direction of Supermarket Records, the label Mullor originally founded in 2010 and has since reshaped around hardgroove, techno, raw techno and peak-time material.
With My Yard EP, JJ Mullor is not attempting to erase the different phases of his career. Instead, he brings them together in a release that feels firmly connected to both his history and his present creative priorities.
