Pumuki – Vuela Cometa [Cabaret Clandestino]

Madrid’s underground provocateur Pumuki returns with a standout cut from his new EP on Cabaret Clandestino, and “Vuela Cometa” might just be its most subversive and seductive moment. Nestled between surrealist flair and electro grit, the track captures the essence of the EP: bilingual rebellion dressed in analog textures.

“Vuela Cometa (Original Mix)” kicks off with a rubbery, lo-fi synth groove that immediately sets the tone for something warped and intimate. The vocals — delivered with deadpan urgency — float somewhere between spoken word, chant, and post-punk theatre. There’s tension in the structure, but also humor and nostalgia. It feels like listening to a pirate transmission from a parallel club universe where La Movida never ended.

The remix by Mr. Meerkat takes the track in a darker, more minimal direction, stripping back the elements and letting the bassline breathe. Meerkat leans into the dystopian side of the track, using space and restraint to amplify the original’s eccentricity.

Together, these two versions of “Vuela Cometa” showcase the range of Pumuki’s sonic identity: playful yet critical, retro but forward-thinking. It’s not about genre — it’s about attitude.

Tracklist (EP – Cabaret Clandestino):

Released via Cabaret Clandestino (Mexico) on July 4th, 2025, the full EP is a sweaty, distorted, and gloriously twisted ride through electroclash, indie dance, and leftfield disco, grounded in Spanish weirdness and Mexican groove culture.

“Vuela Cometa” isn’t just a track — it’s a manifesto wrapped in rhythm.
