On Alegria, Bubba Brothers avoid presenting evolution as a dramatic reinvention. Instead, the Portuguese project expands its vocabulary through two carefully connected original mixes, each maintaining a strong rhythmic centre while exploring a different emotional temperature.
The title track is the more immediate of the pair. Built from tribal percussion, organic movement and a warm, circular groove, Alegria communicates directly with the floor. Its energy is lively without becoming chaotic, and its hypnotic character comes from accumulation rather than excess. The production remains disciplined, allowing the rhythm to carry the track with confidence.
Guru shifts the perspective. Its atmosphere is deeper, its progression more melodic and its tension more gradual. Rather than moving away from the club, the track redefines how club energy can operate: less through impact, more through anticipation. The melodic elements broaden the emotional range of the release while the groove prevents the track from drifting into purely introspective territory.
This contrast gives Alegria its strength. One track looks back towards the tribal house identity associated with Bubba Brothers; the other reaches into a more refined, atmospheric space. Neither feels secondary. They operate as two parts of the same artistic statement.
Released digitally by Mossdeb Sounds on 31 July 2026, the EP continues the label’s commitment to house music that values movement, progression and personality. It is a compact release, but one that says a great deal about where Bubba Brothers are now—and where they may be heading next.
